FROM NAUTICAL PASSION, TO THE HARBOUR, TO THE NEW SHIPYARD
Nautica Pioppi, which had already been camping since 1958 and which was already attentive and far-sighted in its nautical activities by founder Bruno Manfredi, was set up by his son Gianfranco for new initiatives aimed at accommodation, garaging and ports.
This led in the 1980s to the construction of the Hotel Fortuna and in the early 2000s to the construction and management of the Porto Bruno Manfredi, until 2022.
Today it is present with all its expertise in nautical services at Piazza Marina 1 in Peschiera del Garda.
A multi-storey storage facility equipped with an 8-tonne hoist for winter storage of boats is planned and has already been fired, which will meet the needs now demanded on the lake.
FROM THE DARKNESS OF MAUTHAUSEN TO A NEW BEGINNING ON LAKE GARDA
Mauthausen – In Memory of My Father Bruno, Born Twice by Gianfranco Fortunato Manfredi tells the story of Bruno Manfredi, whose world was turned upside down in 1944 and who was deported to the Nazi labour camp at Mauthausen.
Told through the son’s voice, the book traces the pain, resilience and inner transformation of a man forever marked by that experience, yet capable of finding a new lease of life.
Having returned to life, Bruno chose to rebuild, create and leave a lasting legacy on Lake Garda, particularly in Peschiera del Garda. Vintage photographs, official documents, letters and municipal records make this account a vivid testimony to memory, family and rebirth.
